Part 1: The Profile
Name: Avril
Species: Gray Wolf
Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Pack: Cedar Mountain Pack
Physical Appearance: Avril is a lean, medium-sized gray wolf. Her back is a very dark gray, which appears black more often than not. In contrast, her belly and legs are white, blending from gray to brown to white . Her muzzle is a lighter gray than her back, though it is still dark, and blends from gray to brown to white, like the rest of her coat. Her eyes are a shade of amber, though they turn a light brown when she is especially emotional. Though she might not be as well-muscled as other wolves, and is more lean than the average gray wolf, Avril makes up for her supposed lack of strength with speed, and is one of the fastest in the pack, with excellence endurance. Like any wolf, she can move as silently and as smoothly as a ghost, and is able to stay invisible until she wishes to announce herself, or her scent gives her away.
Short Description: Medium, lean, sweet, occasionally odd, quick
Personality: Being raised in the Cedar Mountain Pack, Avril has many of the traits the gray wolves value most, particularly loyalty. She will do anything for a wolf she considers a friend, even if it's dangerous. Though she can be tactless at times, and has a somewhat odd sense of humor, Avril is very sweet, although she can be moody. When she is moody, it is usually best to stay away, at least until she starts to seek company. She puts her faith in instinct, and is more likely to follow a gut feeling than using a logical approach.
Belongings:
History: Born in the Wildlife Refuge, Avril was raised surrounded by the scent of humans. When she tried to make friends with the humans who watched over her family and their pack, she was continually rebuffed; she need to remain wild, after all. That was the point of the Refuge. A few of her peers made fun of her for it, out of the ruthlessness that some pups harbor. The experiance taught her to ignore insults and to stand up for herself when she needed to, as well as how to defend herself in a fight. When she was a little over a year old, she was chosen to be sent to Cedar Mountain. Though she was saddened that she was seperated from her family, she quickly adapted to her new pack.
Family and Relationships: Avril was the first pup in a litter of two. Her brother, Terra, was sent, with Avril, to Blueridge Mountains, leaving their parents, Skart and Willow, behind.
Part 2: Writing Sample
Writing Sample: The white wolf gazed at the river's reflective surface, watching the silhoute of the full moon move with the ripples. Standing a few feet from the river's bank, she seemed completely lost in her thoughts, especially to the young wolf that crept up behind her.
When she didn't acknowledge him when he was only a few feet away he sat down. Watching her curiosly, he couldn't help but wonder what she was looking at in the watr. Glancing at the river's surface, he frowned him nothing special caught his gaze. Looking back at the older wolf, he was surprised to find her looking back at him. thingying his head curiously, he asked bluntly, "What are you looking at, Mama?"
Instead of answering, Larka chuckled. Young pups were alwys full of questions. Turning towards her son, she loped to the four-month-old pup. Nuzzling the gray pup affectionately, she questioned "What are you doing still up? You should be asleep with your brothers." He didn't answer, save for a sheepish grin. Growling in mock exasperation, Larka bent her head, carefully biting the extra bit of skin on the back of his neck. Picking him up, she headed towards their cave, determined to get the curious puppy to sleep for once.
