 c. Wolf Hierarchy
« Thread Started on Dec 24, 2007, 11:03am »

Wolf Packs are complex and have complicated hierarchies. Here is the hierarchy we go by at Silent Sights.

Alpha and Alphess
The Alpha and Alphess are the highest ranking wolves in the pack. They are responsible for leading their pack and making the important decisions. They are also responsible for taking care of the pack and making sure everyones ok. They have to be mates and are usually, but not always, the largest wolves in the pack.

Beta
The Beta wolf is the second highest ranking wolf in the pack. Their is normally only one. They are in charge of taking care of the packs young and keeping peace among the pack while resolving tension. When the Alpha is not around, the Beta will make the decisions for the pack.

Gamma
The Gamma wolves are the middle ranking wolves in the pack. They make up the majority of the pack.

Omega
Omega wolves are the lowest ranking in the pack and are the new comers to the pack.

Pups
This is the stage between birth and 1 year. They are always watched out for and are allowed to eat first with the Alphas and Betas on a kill.
